Thomas Ind is one of London’s leading gynaecological surgeons. He is a consultant gynaecologist for the NHS at St George’s Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital. Mr Ind is also a private gynaecologist, consulting from clinics in Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Harley Street. His patients come from the around the UK and he also has an extensive international practice.
In addition to being a GMC registered specialist in gynaecological surgery, Thomas Ind is one of few doctors in the UK to be awarded sub-specialty registration by the GMC and accreditation by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist (RCOG) as a specialist in gynaecological cancer. He was also one of the first consultant gynaecologists to be awarded a level three certificate in laparoscopic surgery in 1999. Thomas Ind holds a special interest and is trained in robotic laparoscopic surgery. In 2007 he performed the first robotic lymphadenectomy and first hysterectomy by a gynaecologist in the UK.
Thomas Ind is the author of numerous academic papers and book chapters in the fields of gynaecological surgery, gynaecological cancer, colposcopy, and laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. He is a surgical skills tutor for gynaecologists, an examiner for newly qualified doctors and the female reproductive tract editor of Gray’s anatomy.
